On June 27, 2017, Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 4311 Live Oak Street. The victim, Sergio Benavides, a 56-year-old Latin male, was found lying in the parking lot suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Patrick Washington, a 48-year-old Black male, was responsible for Mr. Benavides’ death. On June 28, 2017, Washington was arrested on an unrelated charge and transported to Dallas police headquarters. After being read his Miranda Rights, Washington agreed to speak with detectives. Washington was placed in jail for an unrelated charge and murder. His bond for murder is been set at $500,000.00. Below is the probable cause affidavit.
