ARREST MADE: Detectives Seek Information In Unsolved Homicide of Lewis Cannon

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Matthew Gallagher, a 31-year-old White male, was responsible for the murder of Lewis Cannon that occurred on July 19, 2016.  On January 30, 2018, Dallas detectives secured a murder warrant for Gallagher with a $200,000.00 bond.  Gallagher was arrested by the Massachusetts State Police on unrelated charges.  Dallas detectives traveled to Boston, Massachusetts to interview Gallagher.  He is being held on the unrelated Massachusetts charges and also the Dallas murder.

One year ago, on July 19, 2016, the victim, Lewis Cannon, a Black male, 45-years-old, was shot and killed in the alley of the 2700 block of S. Beckley Avenue.  A Latin male was seen exiting the alley at Saner Avenue.
