Officer of the Month August 2017 – Sergeant Richard Foy

Congratulations to Sergeant Richard Foy, #8103 for being named August’s Officer of the Month.  Sergeant Foy is 16-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department and is currently assigned to the Training Division.  In a letter to the Meritorious Conduct Board, Sergeant Miguel Jamaica wrote about Sergeant Foy’s dedication and professionalism in coordinating the Honor Guard for the officer’s funerals in July of 2016. Sgt. Jamaica said, “Sgt. Foy was responsible for organizing all the logistics in rendering these brave men their FULL Departmental Honors! He got this tremendous job done with precision and excellence.  His superb planning and logistics skills placed the Dallas police Honor Guard in a positive national spotlight.”  Sergeant Foy has been on the department for 16 years and has received over 75 commendations and awards for his outstanding work, including a Life Saving Award.  These are just some of the characteristics that make Sergeant Foy an exemplary officer.  Thank you Sergeant Foy for your hard work and continued service to the citizens of Dallas and the members of the Dallas Police Department!
