UPDATE: No Refusal DWI Initiative –Labor Day Wave

The Dallas Police Department has concluded its Labor Day (Impaired Driving Mobilization) initiative which ran during the enforcement period of August 18-September 5, 2017.  The Dallas Police Department had 86 DWI arrests during this enforcement period. We will continue working hard by keeping intoxicated drivers off the streets with our zero tolerance on DWI’s.

Costs associated with DWI arrest and conviction can add up to more than $17,000 for bail, legal fees, court appearances, court-ordered classes, vehicle insurance increases and other expenses.

The Dallas Police Department will conduct a No-Refusal DWI Initiative during the Labor Day Holiday. This initiative will begin at 6:00 P.M., Friday, August 18, 2017 and will end at 6:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 5, 2017.

During this initiative officers will secure a search warrant for a blood sample from all persons arrested for DWI who refuse to voluntarily give a breath and/or blood sample.
