Cops and Kids Dream Courts

Today, September 14, 2017, at 4:00 p.m., Dallas Police Chief Reneé Hall, Nancy Lieberman, and a host of others were in attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newest Kids and Cops Dream Court located at 9899 Overlake Drive. The state of the art play space will provide a bridge for the relationship between Dallas Police Officers and the communities they serve and protect.  “Community engagement is a top priority for me and building strong relationships in our community starts early by engaging with our youth,” said Chief Hall.  “We want them to know that they can count on the Dallas Police to provide them a safe place to play and grow up”.

In December 2016, Nancy Lieberman Charities and the Dallas Police Department teamed up and opened the first two courts in Dallas on a “Dallas Strong” initiative to provide Dream Courts to underserved areas of Dallas.  The plan is to build 12 courts in Dallas, and hold a free clinic at each court, with Dallas officers serving as coaches for the clinics.  When the community and the police department embrace each other, and work alongside each other, we operate as one Dallas.  Thanks Nancy Lieberman Charities for your continued support and commitment to the Dallas Police Department and the City of Dallas.
