On Saturday, September 9, 2017, the Dallas Police Department’s Office of Community Affairs in partnership with McDonald’s of Greater North Texas, hosted our 3rd “Coffee with Cops” for 2017 in the City of Dallas. The events were simultaneously held at McDonald’s locations in all seven Dallas police patrol divisions. “Coffee with Cops” is a community engagement initiative that allows us to connect with the community in a safe, non-emergency, and family-friendly environment. Such opportunities allow Dallas officers and community members to engage in casual conversation over a free cup of McCafé coffee.
This year, we have begun inviting Dallas Animal Services, Code Enforcement, Dallas Fire and Rescue, and the DART Police Department in order to give community members the opportunity to get to know other City of Dallas departments and organizations. Since its inception in 2013, “Coffee with Cops” has seen a steady increases in community participation which allows us to continue to effectively serve the residents of Dallas through this unique community engagement opportunity. We are looking forward to connecting with the community even more at our next “Coffee with Cops” event which is scheduled for December 9, 2017, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., (locations TBD). Please stay connected on social media (@DallasPD/@DPDCA) & our blog for all community engagement event details.
