Homicide on Paldao Drive


Update: September 18, 2017

On September 14, 2017 at 12:08 p.m. Officers received a call from a citizen who observed the vehicle taken during the murder offense that occurred at 7340 Paldao Drive. The caller followed the vehicle until it was lost in traffic near Maple and Wycliff area. Patrol officers were able to locate the vehicle and take two individuals to the police headquarters. The driver of the stolen vehicle, Reginald Taylor, Black male 37-years old,  was arrested and was charged with Unauthorized Use Vehicle.

On September 16, 2017,  through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Michael McClendon, a White male 45-years-old, is responsible for the death of Norma Kakacek.  McClendon has been placed in jail for Capital Murder with a $500,000.00 bond.

No additional information will be released at this time due to the on-going investigation.

Update: September 15, 2017

On September 14, 2017 at 12:08 p.m. Officers received a call from a citizen who observed the vehicle taken during the murder offense that occurred at 7340 Paldao Drive. The caller followed the vehicle until it was lost in traffic near Maple and Wycliff area. Patrol officers were able to locate the vehicle and take two individuals to the police headquarters. The driver of the stolen vehicle was arrested and will be charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. The investigation continues.

Original Post: September 13, 2017

On September 13, 2017, at approximately 10:53 a.m., the Dallas Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the 7300 block of Paldao Drive regarding the death of Norma Kakacek, a 71-year-old White female. The victim was found deceased inside her home from signs of homicidal violence. There were no visible signs of forced entry. Detectives are currently canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses.

At this point in the investigation, it appears that the victim’s 2005 gray Lexus RX300 SUV with Texas license plate “CPR9301” is missing. A capital murder offense will be generated on case #209675-2017.
