Dallas Police vs. NYPD/FDNY Softball Game

Members of the Dallas Police Department joined retired NYPD and FDNY for a friendly game of softball on Saturday, September 30, 2017. The softball club from New York has been playing together for 25 years, and after the tragedy of September 11, 2001, they decided to take their games on the road. The group travels to a different city in the country every year to meet up in fun and fellowship with the local first responders. This year’s destination was the city of Dallas.

The softball club started with a few NYPD and FDNY personnel, but every year as the group travels they pick up more members. The group is now made up of former and current New York police and fire, military, and first responders from some of the cities they have already visited. The group also makes a donation in each city in honor of fallen police and firefighters and their families.

Everyone had a great time hanging out together, enjoying the beautiful weather, and were surprised by a visit from new Dallas Police Chief U.RENEÉ HALL. We are thankful to our first responder family for traveling to Dallas to visit with us, and we cherish the lasting friendships that were made.
