On November 19, 2017, Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 2117 Chalk Hill Road at approximately 7:34 p.m. Upon officers arrival they discovered the victim, Miguel Martinez, L/M 58-years old suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The suspect was later captured in Irving by the Irving Police Department. The suspect was transported to Dallas Police Homicide Unit where he was questioned by homicide detectives and placed under arrest for murder.

The suspect, Jose Alex Juarez, L/M 27 was transported to Dallas County Jail with a bond of $500,000.00(see posted affidavit)
