Chief Hall Makes Ayodeji Augustine Adekilekum Chief for the Day!

Update January 12, 2018 @ 9:30 a.m.:

It is with great sadness that we inform you that our “Chief for a Day” Ayodeji Augustine Adekilekum passed away last night from his illness.   On January 11, 2018, Ayodeji was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was stabilized and then care flighted to Children’s Hospital.  After several attempts to revive him, a decision was made to let him go.  He fought the good fight with his mother there by his side.  Please keep Ayodeji’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time. “This is Chief for a Day Ayodeji, and I’m on a double six.”

Original Post dated January 5, 2018:

A few months ago, Officer Rashid Brown met Ayodeji while conducting foot patrol at Dan F. Long Middle School.  Shortly after meeting Ayodeji, Officer Brown was informed that Ayodeji was suffering from a brain tumor.  Unfortunately, doctors have recently told Ayodeji’s family that they have done all they can do for Ayodeji and placed him in hospice care.  Officer Brown wanted to do his best to ensure that Adojeji and his family felt love and support during the holiday season.  On Christmas Day, Officer Brown was able to bless the family with two hams and a donation of $300.00.
