Officer of the Month – January 2018

On Thursday, January 25, 2018, Senior Corporal Jeffrey Johnson #9564, was awarded Officer of the Month for the month of January 2018 by the Dallas Community Police Awards Committee. A luncheon was held in his honor at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.

Senior Corporal Johnson has been with the Dallas Police Department for 9 and a half years. He began his career in the Summer of 2008 and was assigned to the North Central Patrol station. During his tenure with the department, Senior Corporal Johnson has received exemplary ratings on his job performance and has received 53 commendations. Throughout the span of his career, Corporal Johnson has received several departmental awards that include the Certificate of Merit Unit Award, 2 Certificates of Merit, a Police Commendation Award and the FBI Director’s Certificate Award.

Senior Corporal Johnson is currently assigned the North Central Deployment Unit. He is one of the top officers in his unit, he gets assigned the most difficult and challenging cases. Throughout his time in the Deployment unit he has participated in several high-profile arrests of multiple violent and property crime suspects that resulted in the clearance of numerous offenses. He has demonstrated what his supervisor referred to as, “the best of a police officer.” Corporal Johnson is a caring and compassionate police officer, while at the same time very methodical and relentless in this pursuit of taking violent criminals off the streets.
