Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Terrance Jones, a 20-year-old Black male, was responsible for the death of Tyrek Jenkins. On February 3, 2018, Dallas Police arrested Jones on unrelated warrants. He was transported to Dallas Police Headquarters and interviewed. Jones was read his Miranda warning and waived his right to remain silent by agreeing to speak with detectives. Jones was placed in jail for his outstanding warrants and also charged with the murder of Tyrek Jenkins. His bond for the murder is set at $500,000.00

Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle in this video. Witnesses stated that a vehicle possibly a Honda Odyssey was seen driving away from the crime scene, Masters Road at Lake June Road, at a high rate of speed. If anyone has any information regarding the vehicle please contact Detective David at 214-671-3627.

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance for information needed regarding a homicide investigation.
On November 29, 2017, at approximately 11:10 p.m., the victim, Tyrek Jenkins, a black male 19-years-old, was shot as he walked home from a convenience store at 1400 Gardenside Drive. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
