Update: April 18, 2018

As a result of the investigation, Ronny Nikile Robinson, a black male 19-years-old was identified as the suspect who killed Ophfesious Fields Jr. and stole his backpack at 8000 Rothington Road.  On April 18, 2018, with the help of the Dallas Fugitive Unit, Robinson was arrested and transported to the Dallas Police Homicide Unit to be interviewed.  Robinson was read his Miranda rights and invoked his right to remain silent by requesting an attorney.  Robinson was placed in jail for capital murder with a $500,000.00 bond.

On April 8, 2018, at approximately 8:17 p.m., Dallas Police responded to the 8000 block of Rothington Road regarding a shooting.  The victim, an unidentified Black male, was shot and transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.  Anyone with information regarding this offense is encouraged to contact Detective McDaniel at 214-671-4236 or tonya.mcdaniel@dallascityhall.com  Please refer to case  number 73620-2018.
