On May 18, 2018, at approximately 2:15 a.m., video surveillance captured a disturbance between the victim, a white male 32-years-old and an unidentified Latin male driving a dark colored Chevrolet Tahoe at 3230 W. Davis Street. The unidentified Latin male shot the victim and fled in the suspect vehicle. The victim, whose name is being withheld pending next of kin notification, was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
At approximately 4:20 p.m., detectives observed the suspect, Miguel Camacho-Pineda, a Latin male 40-years-old, driving the suspect vehicle in close proximity to the offense. The vehicle was stopped and the suspect was detained. The suspect voluntarily agreed to be transported to Dallas Police Headquarters where he was interviewed by detectives. Camacho-Pineda was read his Miranda Rights and voluntarily waived those rights by agreeing to speak with detectives. During the course of the interview, he admitted his role in the offense and confessed to shooting the victim. He has been arrested and placed in Lew Sterrett Jail for murder. His bond is set at $250,000.00.
