On June 23, 2018, at 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to 901 W. Jefferson Road in Grand Prairie, Texas regarding a call about an abandoned infant that was discovered in the 5900 block of Watership Lane in Dallas, TX. Officers responded to Texas Health Emergency Room and spoke with a witness, who found and transported the infant to the hospital. The witness and officers then drove back to the 5900 block of Watership Lane, and met with detectives. Detectives spoke with the witness who stated, that on June 23, 2018 at about 9:30 p.m. she was taking out the trash when she observed the infant lying in the grass next to a dumpster. The witness waited for her husband to get home from work before they transported the infant to the hospital. The witnesses are new to the area and used a cell phone to look up a nearby hospital and transported the infant to Texas Health in Grand Prairie. The infant was later transported to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Detectives have not located any additional witnesses, the mother of the child, or who left the baby at the location. This incident is documented on case number 136555-2018 and is still ongoing.
As of right now we are still working on identifying the Mother. The baby is in stable condition.
