In the early morning hours of Friday the 13, 2018, a sleeping citizen was awaken to a real nightmare of her home being next door to a crime scene. A crime which resulted in the damage of something near and dear to the citizen’s heart, her beautiful flower bed and landscaping. Senior Corporal Bueno, #10269 and Police Officer Foster, #11272, observed how distraught the home owner was and decided to take matters in their own hands.
Senior Corporal Bueno and Officer Foster contacted the Home Depot located at 12005 Elam Road, and explained what had occurred to the store manager. In turn, the manager graciously donated several flowers, plants, and pots to the elderly citizen.
Afterwards, a group of officers took the donated items to the elderly citizen who was full of surprise and joy from the generous gift of others. Today, the elderly citizen’s landscape is being beautified thanks to the compassion and generosity displayed by the community, stakeholders, and the officers of the Southeast Patrol Division. When the community and law enforcement work together, there is nothing we can’t achieve.
