As bait operations continue throughout the City of Dallas, officers refuse to let up the pressure on the bad guys. Through continuous diligence, dedication and team work, officers continue to provide an unparalleled level of service to the citizens of Dallas. Below are just a few examples of the hard work by officers in “Keeping Dallas Safe” so that communities may rest easy at night.
On July 07, 2018, at approximately 1:21 a.m., the suspects, Francisco Lemmons L/M/20 and Mario Zambrano L/M/19, arrived at the location of a bait car that was placed in an area where citizens had an increasing concern of thefts. Both suspects exited their vehicle and began removing multiple items from the bait vehicle. After placing the items into the vehicle, they fled the location. All the while our Fusion Unit monitored the bait activation and notified the Southeast Patrol officers, Deployment officers, and the CRT officers. After patiently tracking the suspects’ vehicle through the city, officers finally made their move when the timing was right and were able to arrest both suspects, who were still in possession of the bait items. After a being interviewed by investigators, both suspects gave a full confession.
Francisco Lemmons was charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. He also had an active warrant out of the Dallas Sherriff’s Office.
Mario Zamorano was charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and possession of Marijuana.
On July 11, 2018 at approximately 2:26 a.m., the Fusion Unit received a notification that bait items were being removed from a strategically placed bait car in the Southwest Division. The Fusion officer was able to observe Rudy Gallegos a L/M/53 walk up to the bait vehicle and begin to take the bait property out of the vehicle. The Fusion officer was able to get an accurate description of the suspect and was able to direct patrol officers to a residence. When officers arrived to the address, a witness gave officers consent to enter the residence where they located the suspect attempting to hide. Mr. Gallegos was placed under arrest without incident and the property was recovered.
Mr. Gallegos was charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.
Another one took the “bait”, BOOM! We Gotcha. Outstanding work in “Keeping Dallas Safe”.
