On August 2, 2018, Sam Tasby Middle School looked like every other school across the metroplex. There where maintenance trucks and workers preparing the school building for the upcoming school year. However, upon entering the gym area you could hear the constant thumping of basketballs on the hard wood. On this hot August evening it just so happened that The Dallas Police Activities League (PAL) was holding its last night of the 2018 Midnight Basketball. The night was to end with the awarding of trophies and a feast of freshly fired chicken fingers and french fries. Oh, lets not forget a nice cake with midnight basketball 2018 written in cake frosting. It was quite obvious all of the kids who participated were happy eating cake with their trophies sitting on the table by that delicious looking cake.
Midnight Basketball may have come to and end this night for the summer of 2018 but Dallas PAL will continue to have activities throughout the school.
