Update Post:

Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to determine that Demarcus Coleman, a 18-year old Black male, is responsible for the death of Xavier McMullen.  On October 31, 2018, detectives obtained a capital murder warrant for Mr. Coleman.  He is currently in jail on unrelated charges and has been charged with capital murder in the death of Mr. McMullen.

Original Post:

On August 4, 2018, at approximately 2:09 a.m., Dallas police responded to 3001 Kendale Drive regarding a shooting call.  The victim, Xavier McMullen, a 25 year-old Black male and a juvenile were fired upon as they were on a stairway of the apartment complex.  Both victims were struck by gunfire by unknown suspect.  McMullen was unresponsive and treated by DFR.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The juvenile was transported to Children’s Medical Center for her injuries.  Anyone with information regarding this offense is encouraged to contact Detective David Grubbs at 214-671-3675 or by email:david.grubbsjr@dpd.ci.dallas.tx.us.  Please refer to case no. 170833-2018.
