On August 6, 2018, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Dallas Police responded to the 2200 block of Lawrence Street regarding a call for police. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Charles Washington, a 32-year-old black male, inside the residence with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire and Rescue arrived prior to officers and pronounced the victim deceased.
