On August 3, 2018 at about 11:35 p.m., arrested person, James Moore 19-year-old, White male, reached into the bed of a bait vehicle parked in the 1300 block of Sunnyside Avenue. James removed a piece of equipment from vehicle and fled from the location. Fusion Detectives Gladney and Wetherington advised Patrol of the direction of travel of the tracked bait item. Patrol officers were able to locate James Moore in the 4100 block of Western Street with the stolen item. James was taken into custody and transported to Lew Sterrett jail.
On July 25, 2018 at about 12:45 p.m., arrestee person Terrance Turner 35-year-old, Black male, walked up behind the Southwest bait vehicle and reached into the bed of the truck. Terrance removed the a piece of equipment and then walked into the apartment complex and got a ride from another black male. Mr. Turner was given a ride to the pawn shop located at 400 West Jefferson and took the stolen equipment out of the trunk of the other male’s vehicle and walked inside and set the stolen equipment on the counter. Officers arrived and entered the back and front of the Pawn Shop and observed Terrance standing in front of the stolen equipment. Terrance Turner was taken into custody and taken to Southwest Investigative unit and interviewed. After being interviewed, he arrested and charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.
