Early this afternoon a group of Sergeants teamed up to provided cold bottled water and informative flyers to the homeless. The flyers contained information to raise awareness of heat related injuries among the homeless and citizens who spend a large amount of time outdoors. Currently, there are approximately 1,098 homeless individuals living in the City of Dallas.
With temperatures reaching over 100 degrees this summer, homeless individuals are in need of clean drinking water to avoid suffering from heat- related illnesses. This team of Sergeants traded in their ticket book for cold bottles of water to hand out to the homeless and citizens within the Downtown area. Safety is Dallas PD’s top priority and raising awareness to avoid heat exhaustion or heat stroke this summer is one step closer to Keeping Dallas Safe. #OperationH2O
