The Dallas Police Department is pleased to announce its latest addition, Academy Class #359. Recruits in Class #359 started the academy on December 13, 2017 with 39 recruits and graduated with a total of 34 officers. Some of the recruits joined the force after hearing calls from Dallas Police commanders asking citizens to join the ranks and make a difference in the community. Recruits came from all across the country, even as far as Alaska. Many of the recruits already have family on the department ranging from in-laws to spouses who decided to follow in their footsteps. These recruits have made it through the arduous training and are now ready to join our mission to keep Dallas safe.
In spite of the current challenges facing law enforcement officers, the recruits completed the arduous nine month training academy to earn the title of Police Officer. The graduation is only the beginning of their assignments as patrol officers as they head to their new duty assignments to begin field training . Congratulations Class 359!
