Officer of the Month: Senior Corporal Steven Ulas, #9451

On October 25, 2018, Senior Corporal Steven Ulas, #9451, was awarded October’s Officer of the Month by the Dallas Community Police Awards Committee.  A luncheon ceremony was held in his honor at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel located at 900 E Lookout Dr., Richardson, TX.

Senior Corporal Steven Ulas is a 10 year veteran of the Department and is currently assigned to the Northeast Division Crime Reduction Team (CRT). Senior Corporal Steven Ulas has hundreds of arrests under his belt and has seized large amounts of narcotics, numerous firearms, and has recovered countless stolen vehicles helping make Dallas a little safer.

Senior Corporal Ulas also helps coordinate the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District while off-duty and ensures that even while off-duty that the city of Dallas is taken care off. He has earned over 36 commendations for his actions and has been awarded a Life Saving Award.

Sergeant Michael Vaughn, #8456, who nominated Senior Corporal Steven Ulas, stated, “Senior Corporal Ulas exhibits the traits and qualities that a Dallas police officer needs to excel. He continues to lead the way my meeting all expectations on his performance evaluations, attendance record, pistol/rifle proficiency scores, and driving record. He is a not only a leader in the C.R.T unit, but for the entire Northeast Patrol Division, and an example to the officers that he works with.”
