Red Bird Lane.  The victim Danielle Shundre Taylor, a 32-year old Black female, was found on the ground next to the front door of Ruben’s Grocery with an apparent gunshot wound.  Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where she died of her injuries.  The owner of a white 2015 Kia Optima parked his unlocked vehicle and entered the grocery store.  He observed the victim take a handgun out of his car and confronted her outside the store.  A struggle ensued, and he attempted to take his gun out of the victim’s pocket when it went off.  The weapon fired a single gunshot striking her.  He was taken into custody and transported to Dallas Police Jack Evans Headquarters for questioning.

After the interviews, it was determined that the shooter would be released pending a ruling from a Dallas County Grand Jury.  This investigation is ongoing.
