ARREST MADE: Child Used by Suspect to Commit Package Theft

UPDATE: The suspect in the package theft surveillance video in December has been identified. A witness who viewed the YouTube video released by the department called the Northwest Investigative Unit identifying her. Ana Isabel Lopez, 30 a Latin female was arrested and charged with four counts of Theft. When interviewed by detectives, the suspect confessed to the crimes. The child involved was placed in custody of his father.

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the Public’s assistance to help identify a theft suspect,  using a child to steal packages.

On December 19, 2018, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., a white female in her 20’s is captured pulling up to a house on surveillance video in the 10500 block of Gooding Drive in a black colored sedan with a maroon front passenger fender. She is also seen exiting the vehicle, walking up to the house and stealing a package. This offense is documented on case number 271199-2018.

A short time earlier the same vehicle was seen in the 4000 block of clover Lane dropping off a child at a house and waiting as the child, believed to be around 10 years old, runs up to another house and steals a package. It is believed the adult female is using children to steal packages. This offense is documented on case number 271694-2018.
