On February 2, 2019, at approximately 8:06 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 7229 Ferguson Road. The victim, Saquan Ross, a Black male 28-years-old, had been shot multiple times and was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Demarcus Battson, a Black male 41-years-old was responsible for the death of Mr. Ross. Suspect Battson surrendered to officers at Dallas Police Headquarters with the help of his family.
Detectives Lopez and Chaney read Mr. Battson his Miranda warning and he agreed to speak with detectives. During the interview, the suspect admitted to shooting the victim. He was arrested and booked into jail for murder.
