On February 7, 2019, the Dallas Police Department received a report from the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences which confirmed the DNA profile obtained from the victim’s forensic exam matched the DNA profile of Dralon Patterson. Mr. Patterson has already been charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault in this offense and is in jail on $250,000 bond.
DNA has also linked Dralon Patterson to a Sexual Assault which is documented on Case #263874-2017. On November 19, 2017, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the 26-year-old female complainant was walking to her car in the 3100 block of Lemmon Avenue after a night out at the West Village. The complainant encountered the suspect and was sexually assaulted inside a vehicle. The complainant was dropped off after the assault. The complainant immediately went to a hospital for a forensic exam. The DNA profile obtained from that exam matched the DNA profile of Dralon Patterson. Detectives are currently preparing the arrest warrant to charge Dralon Patterson with Sexual Assault in the 2017 case.

On February 1, 2019, at approximately 12:00 a.m., the victim was walking in the lower level of the parking garage away from her vehicle in the 2700 block of Howell Street. As she approached the elevator, the unknown suspect walked down a nearby ramp toward her. They exchanged pleasantries. After they passed one another, the victim heard the suspect approach from behind. When she turned around, the suspect displayed a weapon. The suspect forced the victim back to her vehicle and sexually assaulted her. After the assault, the suspect took some of victims property. The suspect then fled the location on foot. Detectives are canvassing the area looking for surveillance video and potential witnesses.
The suspect is described as a black male, 30 years old, 5’9” with a medium build. He was wearing a gray doo-rag, dark T-shirt, a light-colored jacket and gray sweat pants. He was further described as unshaven and wearing older tennis shoes. This offense is documented on case number 021345-2019.
