Arrest Made in Homicide at 3000 Routh

The victims in this offense were not found to be in possession of a weapon.  Additional suspects are not being sought.  Anyone with additional information, including cell phone video of this offense, is asked to contact Homicide Detective D. On February 24, 2019, at approximately 2:13 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 3000 Routh Street.  They discovered two victims shot, one fatally.  Demondre Green, a Black male 29-years-old was shot multiple times inside his vehicle and died at the scene.  His passenger was also struck by gunfire and was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Christopher Rommell McKinney Jr., a Black male 23-years-old is responsible for the death of the victim, Demondre Green.  On February 26, 2019, Mckinney was taken into custody and transported to Dallas Police Headquarters to be interviewed by detectives.  He was read his Miranda warning and waived those rights by agreeing to speak with detectives.  During the interview, he admitted his role in this offense.  McKinney was placed in jail for murder with his bond to be determined by a magistrate.
