ARREST MADE: Murder Investigation at 1211 Strickland Street

On May 10, 2019, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a call for police at 1211 Strickland Street. Upon arrival, they found the victim, Gary Kelly, a 64-year-old black male, inside the residence deceased from homicidal violence. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the victim’s son, Gary Bynum, a 45-year-old black male, was responsible for the murder of the victim. At around 1:00 p.m., Gary Bynum turned himself in to Dallas Police at Jack Evans Headquarters. He was interviewed by a homicide detective and admitted to killing the victim. He was subsequently transported to Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with murder, a first-degree felony. His bond will be set by a Dallas County magistrate.
