Arrest Made In Homicide Investigation – 2900 Block of Holmes Street

On Monday, May 13, 2019, at approximately 1:52 a.m., Dallas police responded to a health and welfare check call in the 2900 block of Holmes Street. Upon arrival, officers found the victim Frederick Eugene Williams, a 45-year old Black male, in his apartment unresponsive. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased from homicidal violence. 

During the course of the investigation, Homicide detectives determined that suspect Dwight Manning, a 58-year old Black male, was responsible for the murder of the victim.  Detectives learned of his whereabouts, and he was taken into custody.  Suspect Manning was transported to Jack Evans Police Headquarters where a detective interviewed him.  During the interview, he admitted to killing the victim.  After the interview, he was transported to the Dallas County Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with murder, a 1st-degree felony, on case number 094879-2019.
