Homicide on Mahanna Street

On June 7, 2019, Jamie Israel Saenz, a 17-year old Latin male, and Lupe Anthony Zavala, 18-year old Latin male, were arrested and transported to Dallas Police Headquarters where Homicide detectives interviewed them.  Detectives read their Miranda warning rights, and all agreed for an interview.  After being interviewed, Jamie Israel Saenz and Lupe Anthony Zavala were placed in the Dallas County Jail and charged with Capital Murder, a Capital Felony.

A third suspect Carlos Rodriguez-Quinones, a 19-year old Latin male, was arrested for unrelated charges and is currently in the Dallas County Jail.  Homicide detectives have added a Capital Murder charge against Carlos Rodriguez-Quinones.

All the suspects related to this investigation have been charged with Capital Murder, a Capital Felony, for the murder of Nicholas Blake Edwards, a 29-year old White male. (see Affidavits below)

On May 27, 2019, at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call at 3100 Mahanna Street. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Nicholas Edwards, a 29-year-old White male, unconscious on the street with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing two light-skinned males enter a red Dodge Charger and flee the location towards Lemmon Avenue.
