On June 4, 2019, at approximately 7:14 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 9415 Bruton Road. Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile, 13-year old Black male, lying on the ground suffering from a single gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the juvenile victim to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Through the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for Datrail Clayton, a Black male 21-years-old.
On June 5, 2019, Datrail Clayton was arrested and transported to Dallas Police Headquarters where he was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak with detectives. After being interviewed, Clayton was placed in jail and charged with the murder of the 13-year-old juvenile.

On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at approximately 7:14 p.m., Southeast patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 9415 Bruton Road. Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile, Malik Tyler, 13-year old Black male, lying on the ground with a single gunshot wound to his upper right shoulder blade. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the juvenile victim to Baylor Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
