On Friday, June 21, 2019, at approximately 3:11 a.m., Dallas police responded to a Disturbance Active Shooter on Foot call at the Coronado Apartments located at 7414 E. Grand Avenue. Upon arrival, officers made entry and found the victims Fredi Mercado, a 31-year old Latin male, and Urania De Jesus, a 34-year old Latin female, deceased from homicidal violence.
During the course of the investigation, Homicide detectives learned that arrestee Leo Ted Pintor, a 40-year old Latin male, was the individual responsible for the murders of Urania De Jesus and Fredi Mercado. Arrestee Pintor was arrested and transported to Dallas Police Headquarters to be interviewed by Homicide detectives. The arrestee was read his Miranda rights and he declined to be interviewed. Arrestee Pintor was transported to the Dallas County Jail and charged with Capital Murder, a capital felony, on case no. 124609-2019.
