Crystal Jackson, Black/female, 27 years old was arrested for P.C. 22.041(f) Abandon/Endanger Child Criminal Negligence, which is a State Jail Felony.

Today, shortly after 11:00 a.m., the Dallas Police Department located the remains of a small child, who is believed to be 18-month old Cedrick Jackson. Detectives discovered the child’s remains in a landfill in Rowlett, Texas. The remains were taken to the coroner’s office to determine the cause of death and positive identification. Detectives have arrested Sedrick Johnson, a Black male 27-years of age, for Injury to a Child / Serious Bodily Injury, First-Degree Felony. Other charges are pending, based on the outcome of the coroner’s report.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Mr. Johnson is the boyfriend of the aunt who had temporary custody of Cedrick. After interviewing the family on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, detectives discovered that Mr. Johnson was at the apartment when the abduction took place. Detectives questioned Mr. Johnson who then confessed that he had taken Cedrick from the apartment and placed him in a dumpster in northeast Dallas. When detectives arrived at the dumpster, they discovered that Cedrick’s body was not there. They learned that the dumpster had been emptied at least twice at a landfill in Rowlett. Dallas police, along with local firefighters, and agents from the FBI located Cedrick’s remains shortly after 11:00 a.m., today. Detectives have not ascertained a motive at this time, nor has it been established on when or how Cedrick died.

The Dallas Police Department is asking for the Public’s assistance in the critical missing child, Cedrick Jackson.
On July 10th, at about 6:00 a.m., the Dallas Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding an 18-month-old child missing from an apartment located in the 9700 block of Whitehurst Drive. The missing child, Cedrick Jackson, had recently been placed in the temporary custody of an aunt at the call location. She reported that she put the child down to sleep after 11:00 p.m., and discovered him missing at around 6:00 a.m. A juvenile witness, who lives at the location, described someone who looked like a relative as having taken Cedrick. Detectives have located that individual, but he did not have Cedrick. This person is currently in jail in Keller, Texas on unrelated warrants.
Based on this information, a Regional Amber Alert was issued at about 12:15 p.m. In the meantime, detectives have searched the house and are canvassing the neighborhood where Cedrick lives. Detectives are also interviewing family members. In addition, the Dallas Police Department have asked for the FBI”s assistance and they are currently helping with the investigation.
The juvenile witness, described the person who took Cedrick as a Black male, 5′, 10″ and about 190 lbs. We continue to ask anyone with information is asked to contact the Dallas Police Department’s Youth Operation Unit at 214-671-4268.

Cedrick Jackson was last seen on July 10, 2019 at about 12:30 a.m., in the 9700 block of Whitehurst Drive. Cedrick is described as a 18-month-old, Black male, with black braided hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a diaper only. Cedrick may be in danger and in need of assistance.
