August 2019 Officer of the Month – Aaron Rucker

On August 2, 2019, Police Officer Aaron Rucker, #9004, was awarded August’s Officer of the Month by the Dallas Community Police Awards Committee.  There was a luncheon held in his at the Jewish Community Center of Dallas located at 7900 Northaven Road, Dallas, Texas.

Officer Rucker is a born and raised Dallasite who shares a genuine love and compassion for his community and mankind.  He joined the Dallas Police Department in December 2006 and has since worked in Patrol, Crime Response Team, the Bicylce Unit, and as a Mental Health Officer for the Crisis Intervention Team and the RIGHT Care Team.  During his tenure, Officer Rucker has received 9 commendations and a Life Saving Award.   Sergeant Jennifer Wells, Officer Rucker’s supervisor, expressed in her nomination letter that Officer Rucker truly enjoys and displays a level of honor while working as a member of the mobile mental care team (RIGHT Care).  “He bridges the gap between mental health consumers, their families, and the our law enforcement community.  “Officer Rucker takes great pride in aiding and assisting citizens who truly are in need of mental health assistance and care,” said Sergeant Wells.  “He truly puts the needs of others before his own”.
