On Friday, August 2, 2019, at approximately 2:30 am, the victim was asleep in her apartment at the 800 block of Exposition Avenue.  She was awakened by the suspect entering her residence and rummaging through her belongings.  While inside her residence, the suspect criminally assaulted the victim and took various items belonging to her before fleeing the location on foot.

Detectives actively canvassed the area looking for witnesses, while the crime scene was processed for evidence.  Crime Scene Technicians were able to develop fingerprints of an individual later identified as Patrick Polk B/M 24 years old.  Polk was located by Dallas Police Central Patrol Division Crime Response Team Officers this morning and was arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants.  He was then taken to Dallas Police Headquarters for an interview where he admitted to having committed this offense.  He was booked into the Dallas County Jail for his outstanding warrants and the charge of Sexual Assault.  His bond will be set by the magistrate.
