Homicide Investigation of Brandon Washington

During the course of this investigation, it was determined that Dakedrick Coleman, a 22-year old Black male, was responsible for the murder of the victim, Brandon Washington, a 29-year old Black male.  On Friday, September 6, 2019, Homicide detectives obtained a probable cause arrest (PCA) warrant for murder against suspect Coleman. 

 On Tuesday, September 10, 2019, suspect Coleman surrendered himself to homicide detectives at the Dallas Police Headquarters.  Suspect Coleman was read his rights, and he admitted to the murder of the victim, Brandon Washington.  After the interview, suspect Coleman was transported to the Dallas Co. Jail where he was charged with Murder.

On August 30, 2019, at approximately 1:08 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 3900 Gannon Lane.  They discovered the victim, Brandon Washington, a 29-year-old Black male, shot multiple times.  He was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.  Anyone with information regarding this offense is encouraged to contact Detective Guy Curtis, #8341 at 214-671-3633 or guy.curtis@dallascityhall.com.
