National Child Passenger Safety Week

The third week of September has been established as National Child Passenger Safety Week. Parents across the world transport their children in vehicles daily in child safety seats. The goal of National Child Passenger Safety Week is to make sure your child is in the correct car seat and that it is properly installed.

Car seats can reduce the risk of fatal injuries in a crash by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers. Vehicle accidents are a leading cause of death for children. Data shows that from 2013 to 2017, there were 3,313 children under the age of 13 killed while riding in passenger vehicles. These deaths are preventable by making sure children are properly buckled in and sitting in a properly installed safety seat.
