UPDATE September 24, 2019, at 9:06 p.m.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Domingo Ramirez-Cavente, a Latin male, 29-years-old was responsible for the shooting of the victim. Ramirez was arrested for traffic charges and transported to the Dallas Police Headquarters to be interviewed. After being read and waving his Miranda Rights, he agreed to speak with detectives. During the interview, he admitted to shooting the victim. He has been placed in jail and charged with aggravated assault. His bond will be set by the magistrate. See the arrest affidavit below.

The Dallas Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 35-year-old Latin transgender female that occurred on September 20, 2019, at about 11:05 pm at 11000 Dennis Road. Detectives were only able to speak with the victim today and verify the facts of the offense due to her injuries.
This offense is being investigated as a hate crime. A Latin male suspect driving this suspect vehicle, pulled alongside the victim, yelled a number of slurs regarding her gender identity and at the victim, striking her multiple times in the chest and arm.
We are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. The suspect vehicle is described as a late model four (4) door, red Chevrolet truck with large aftermarket rims.
