Through the course of the investigation it was determined that Michael Lucky, a 29-year-old Black male and Keith Johnson, a 32-year-old Black male were responsible for the death of Andre Emmett. On October 19, 2019, Dallas homicide detectives obtained capital murder warrants for their arrests. Johnson, who is currently in jail on unrelated charges, has also been charged with capital murder. His bond will be set by a magistrate. Michael Lucky has turned himself in at Jack Evans Headquarters.

Please see the posted video of the suspect vehicle, a white four door Chrysler with twenty inch rims arriving and leaving the offense location. Also posted are photos of the watch and necklace that was taken from the victim.

UPDATE 9/24/2019 AT 5:00 p.m.: The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects in the above video. The video was taken from two separate home surveillance cameras. Anyone who recognizes the suspects by video or voice are asked to contact Detective Sayers at (214) 671-3647.

On September 23, 2019, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the victim, Andre Emmett, a 37-year-old Black male was approached by two unknown suspects as he sat in his vehicle in front of his residence in the 1800 block of N. Prairie Avenue. The suspects displayed a handgun and an altercation ensued, during which the victim was shot as he ran away from the suspects. The victim was located by a passerby, who called 911, several hundred feet from his residence. Dallas Fire and Rescue responded and transported him to an area hospital, where he later died. Witnesses reported seeing two male suspects, one described as a tall, thin Black male wearing a red hat. The suspects entered a white Chrysler 300 and fled onto N. Fitzhugh Avenue towards Ross Avenue.
