Homicide on Meyers Street

Update: February 23, 2020

On Saturday, February 22, 2020, Kimberly Ann Garcia, a 17-year old Latin female, surrendered herself for murder to Dallas Police at Jack Evans Headquarters.  Suspect Garcia was transported to Dallas County Jail and charged for the murder of Gloria Roque, which occurred on Thursday, October 31, 2019, at 3738 Meyers Street.  Her bond to be set by a Dallas County Magistrate.   

Update Post: February 7, 2020, @ 8:25 a.m.

During the course of the investigation, the Dallas Police Department – Homicide Unit determined that a juvenile was responsible for the murder of Gloria Roque, a 79-year-old Black female.  On Thursday, February 6, 2020, the juvenile was arrested and charged with murder by Homicide Detectives.  He’s currently at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center.

On October 31, 2019, at approximately 10:52 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting at 3738 Meyers Street.  The victim, Gloria Roque, a 79-year-old Black female was struck by gunfire as she sat inside her home.  She was transported to an area hospital where she died from her injuries.  No suspects have been identified.
