On November 11, 2019, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Dallas Police responded to an apartment at 3900 Accent Drive in regards to a health and welfare check. Dallas Fire and Rescue made forced entry into the apartment and located the victim, Layla McDaniel, a 38-year-old white female, and the suspect, Gary Geter, a 38-year-old black male, both deceased from gunshot wounds. The two had previously been involved in an intimate dating relationship. The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect fatally shot the victim and then himself. This incident is documented on Case Number 228106-2019.
