On November 14, 2019, Sergeant John Nash III, #6386, was awarded November’s Officer of the Month by the Dallas Community Police Awards Committee. A luncheon ceremony was held in his honor at the Momentous Institute.
Sergeant Nash is a 29-year veteran of the Department and is currently assigned as a Field Sergeant in the Dallas Police Department’s Fugitive Unit. His supervisor, Lieutenant David Davis, nominated Sergeant Nash for this award mainly in part for his outstanding work performance as a supervisor.
Lieutenant David Davis stated, “Sergeant Nash exhibits the characteristics needed as a First- Line Supervisor because of his willingness to lead from the front, responsiveness to the needs of the unit, whether it be reporting to a callback, or volunteering to assist team members with investigations.” Sergeant Nash’s leadership has earned the respect of fellow supervisors and officers.
