Officer of the Month – Sergeant John Nash, III

On November 14, 2019, Sergeant John Nash III, #6386, was awarded November’s Officer of the Month by the Dallas Community Police Awards Committee.  A luncheon ceremony was held in his honor at the Momentous Institute.

Sergeant Nash is a 29-year veteran of the Department and is currently assigned as a Field Sergeant in the Dallas Police Department’s Fugitive Unit.  His supervisor, Lieutenant David Davis, nominated Sergeant Nash for this award mainly in part for his outstanding work performance as a supervisor.

Lieutenant David Davis stated, “Sergeant Nash exhibits the characteristics needed as a First- Line Supervisor because of his willingness to lead from the front, responsiveness to the needs of the unit, whether it be reporting to a callback, or volunteering to assist team members with investigations.”   Sergeant Nash’s leadership has earned the respect of fellow supervisors and officers. 

The job knowledge and sound decision making exhibited by Sergeant Nash delivers extrinsic results.  Thank you, Sergeant Nash, for your hard work and dedication that awarded you November’s Officer of the month.  We are proud of you!!!
