Arrest Made in the Homicide Investigation of Kerry Jones

On January 2, 2020, Cameron Blakely, a 27-year-old white male, was charged with the murder of Kerry Jones. Blakely was initially found at the murder scene with a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. At the time, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and has been in police custody since. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that he was also culpable for the death of Kerry Jones. Blakely has been charged with murder, a first-degree felony. His bond will be determined by a Dallas County Magistrate.

On Monday, December 30, 2019, at approximately 6:55 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at the Deluxe Inn located at 2615 Royal Lane.  Upon arrival, officers found Kerry Jones, a 34-year -old Black male in a motel room deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.  Two additional victims, Michael Rosa, a 37-year old Latin male, was found lying on the floor by the front door of the room with multiple gunshot wounds, and Cameron Blakely, a 27-year old white male, was found outside lying on the ground at the entrance of the motel with multiple gunshot wounds.  Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and  transported the surviving victims to an area hospital.
