Keeping Dallas Safe – Drive-By Shooter Arrested

On February 21, 2020, the Dallas Police Department’s SWAT Team executed a search/arrest warrant at 416 E. 10th Street. The warrants stem from the investigative efforts of the Southwest Patrol Division’s CRT/Deployment Unit that tracked down the suspect of a drive-by shooting that occurred on February 14, 2020, in the 3000 block of South Westmoreland Road. The shooting incident was subsequently posted to Instagram. The shooter, who confessed to the offense, was taken into custody. In addition, the firearm and the vehicle used in the crime have all been recovered. This incident has been documented on case numbers: 035026-2020 and 030462-2020.

The shooter, Yordi Rodriguez, L/M/17, has been charged with the following:

  • Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (M/A)
  • Possession of Marijuana (M/B)
  • Resisting Arrest (M/A)
  • Deadly Conduct (F/3)
  • Possession of Marijuana in a Drug-Free Zone (F/3)
