Lt. Leroy Quigg And Motorola Solutions Honored at Safer Dallas And Rotary Club of Dallas Awards Luncheon

Safer Dallas Better Dallas and the Rotary Club of Dallas hosted its 11th Annual Recognition Awards Luncheon, Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital located at 2222 Welborn Street in Dallas.

Lieutenant Leroy Quigg of the East Patrol Bureau is 2019’s recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Lieutenant Quigg has made significant contributions over the course of his career towards mentoring young people and protecting and serving residents of Dallas.

Chief Hall, who nominated Lieutenant Quigg, stated “Lieutenant Quigg has demonstrated what it means to fight violent crime through gang identification and apprehension as well as community engagement. He is the epitome of police and community partnership.”

Motorola Solutions Incorporated is the honoree for the Citizen’s Public Safety Leader Award. The company is being recognized for its state-of-the-art camera technology currently being used in the Dallas Police Department’s Starlight program. Each year, an individual or company is honored for distinguished service and unwavering dedication towards making Dallas the safest city in America.

“Motorola Solutions is honored to receive Safer Dallas’ Public Safety Leadership Award and grateful for the collaboration with Safer Dallas and the Dallas Police Department that has made the Starlight program possible,” said Neil Thomas, vice president of the Western Region Sales, Motorola Solutions. Thomas further stated, “We look forward to the roll-out of the pilot program and the opportunity to connect additional businesses to the city’s real-time crime center for increased community and officer safety.”
