On April 11, 2020, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at the Casa De Arroyo Apartments at 8360 Spring Valley Road. Upon arrival, they located the victim, an unidentified Latin male in his mid-thirties, with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire and Rescue arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. Witnesses reported that the victim was involved in an argument with the suspect and another individual that escalated when the suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim. Through the course of the investigation, the suspect, Martin Reymundo Rocha, a 21-year-old Latin male, was identified as the shooter. The suspect was located by Dallas police and arrested. He was transported to Dallas Police Headquarters and interviewed by a detective with the Homicide Unit. He admitted to shooting the victim, but claimed that it was in self-defense. He was subsequently transported to Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with murder, a felony of the first degree. His bond will be set by a Dallas County Magistrate.
