On May 11, 2020, at approximately 3:05 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting at 2033 Oates Drive. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim, Kashus Williams, a 25-year-old Black male deceased inside his residence from a gunshot wound. Detectives spoke with neighbors who reported hearing a disturbance coming from the victim’s apartment and a single gunshot. They observed a female exiting through a bedroom window immediately after hearing the gunshot. Through the course of the investigation, it was determine the female seen climbing through the window was his live-in girlfriend Kenia Rodriguez-Gonzalez, a 24-year-old Latin female. She was located at a different location and transported to Dallas Police Headquarters to speak with detectives. She waved her Miranda warning and agreed to an interview. During the interview, she admitted to shooting the victim. Suspect Rodriguez-Gonzalez was arrested for murder and transported to jail. Her bond will be set by a magistrate.
