Arrest Made in Homicide on McKinney Avenue

On Monday, May 25, 2020, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at the One Sette Bar located at 2614 McKinney Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Tommie Richard Rodgers, a 32-year old black male, lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest at the 2500 block of Boll Street right across from the club.  Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

During the course of the investigation, Homicide detectives learned the suspect, Franklin Moore, a 24-year old black male, was involved in a disturbance with several patrons inside the club.  The suspect was escorted out and grabbed a handgun from a party bus that he owns.  He entered the club again and was escorted out the second time.  Once outside the club, he was involved in a confrontation with the victim and shot at him multiple times.  The suspect fled the scene and surrendered himself to the Euless Police Department.  Dallas police transported suspect Moore to the Homicide Unit, where he was interviewed by detectives.  After the interview, suspect Moore was taken to Lew Sterrett and charged with Murder. His bond will be determined by a magistrate.  Please reference case #092412-2020.

The investigation is on-going and if there are any witnesses to this offense, they are asked to contact Detective Chris Anderson at 214-671-3616 or via email at c.anderson@dallascityhall.com.
